Omni Network leads chain abstraction to create a unified Rollups ecosystem
Unified Rollups - The Innovative Path of Omni Network
Recently, a well-known DEX announced the launch of an L2 chain specifically designed for DeFi. More and more applications are accelerating the construction of their own L2s, whether to control more of the blockchain stack, launch new products, or capture more value. L2 is gradually dominating trading volume and locked value ( TVL ), but is also increasingly fragmented. L2 chains need to choose between isolated environments and modular infrastructure. Nevertheless, many chains still opt for these solutions to maintain control over their rollups.
For users, this leads to a poor experience. They still have to struggle to transfer assets between different L2s to use various protocols. The core idea of Chain Abstraction ( is that users should be isolated from the underlying chain infrastructure, allowing them to access any application regardless of which chain they are on or which tokens they hold. Although this concept is still in its early stages, Omni Network has become one of the most noteworthy projects in this field.
Omni Network addresses this issue through two key strategies: first, minimizing the cost of integrating Omni into L2; second, ensuring that L2 does not lose control over any part of its stack. Omni introduces a front-end SDK that any application can easily integrate. It has no special requirements for rollups, and development teams do not need to upgrade smart contracts. From the user's perspective, it is fully compatible with existing wallets, requiring no new software downloads or changes in usage habits.
Omni simplifies the user experience by incorporating features such as automatic network switching, reducing the waiting time for message transmission across rollups, automatically handling gas fees on the target rollup, and enabling seamless fund migration without leaving the application. These address the core issues that hinder Ethereum from becoming a user-friendly platform. After widespread adoption, Omni is expected to bring an overall user experience to Ethereum similar to that of Solana, while retaining the high throughput and low fee advantages provided by rollups.
In terms of technical architecture, Omni is a chain specifically designed to facilitate interoperability within the Ethereum rollup ecosystem. Unlike other networks focused on cross-chain messaging, Omni takes a unique product approach. It adds a coordination protocol on top of the core interoperability network, allowing Solvers (such as market makers) to provide users with prepayments, even if the user's funds are in a different rollup than the application.
From the user's perspective, token transfers are instant. Omni adopts a "pull" model, where the resolver immediately provides liquidity for the user on the target rollup, rather than the traditional "push" model. This greatly enhances the user experience, allowing them to achieve the desired results instantly, while the complex backend operations are handled by market participants.
When users submit transactions, funds are deposited into a custody contract and will only be released after receiving proof of cross-rollup messages. Users feel like they are using the same asset across multiple L2s without having to consider the complexities of cross-rollup activities.
Omni's goal is to "restructure" the decoupled crypto infrastructure stack. It recognizes that modular L2 is where most activities take place and has created a protocol that allows users to move instantly between chains while enabling L2 to maintain autonomy. As an early explorer of chain abstraction, Omni could become a key infrastructure that combines the composability of the Ethereum ecosystem with a Solana-like smooth user experience.
