Hackers who hacked TurkNet demanded (BTC) Bitcoin! Company made a statement!
The series of hacking incidents continues. This time, the target of hackers was TurkNet, one of the most popular internet service providers.
Hackers claimed to have obtained some customers' names, surnames, phone numbers, subscription numbers, Turkish ID numbers, identity information, addresses, and static IP information as a result of the cyber attack on Turknet.
Hackers had also stated that if TurkNet does not send 3 Bitcoin (BTC) within the specified time frame, they would leak the entire database.
TurkNet officials confirming the hack attack made the following statement regarding the issue:
To the public,
Since the day we were founded as TurkNet, we have considered trust, transparency, accountability, and corporate governance as our top priorities. We present this statement to the public as a requirement of our responsibility within the framework of these principles.
A similar cyber attack on TurkNet was detected on March 11, 2025, amid the increasing cyber attacks worldwide and in Turkey.
First of all, we would like to point out that there have been no interruptions or issues in our services.
The attack does not cover our customers' financial information and TurkNet user passwords, and this information is end-to-end secure.
***Our efforts to identify those responsible for all of these initiatives and initiate the necessary legal processes will be carried out in coordination with the relevant public institutions, and the necessary breach notification has been made to the Personal Data Protection Authority and the Information Technologies and Communication Authority.
As of now, all additional measures have been carefully implemented, and you can safely use our Online Transaction Center and mobile application with your current password.
We continue to manage the entire process transparently by directly communicating with our customers affected by this incident.
We will continue to maintain cybersecurity at the highest level and provide our customers with uninterrupted, reliable service.
